James Rodriguez is set to return to European football after a year in Saudi Arabia. The Colombian is set to sign for Greek side Olympiacos. According to Fabrizio Romano, the transfer is expected to be made official soon, with a medical assessment scheduled very soon.
There is a verbal agreement in place between Al Rayyan and Olympiacos for the midfielder to move on a loan deal. And now, it seems only a matter of time before it is made official on their deadline day.
James Rodriguez to join Olympiacos on a loan deal
The player publicly stated that he would join Valencia if given the opportunity but nothing came of it. He surprisingly left Everton as a free agent to exit European football, but things have not exactly gone to plan for the 31-year-old, who can still have a few years at the top level.
The former Real Madrid midfielder will reunite with Marcelo at Olympiacos, who has also signed as a new player for the Greek side. He left Los Blancos as a free agent at the end of the season, and is now set to take on a new adventure after establishing himself as a legend at the club.
Olympiacos could sign a few more players alongside James Rodriguez on deadline day to complete their squad.
