Raul De Tomas has completed a move from Espanyol to Rayo Vallecano, with the transfer being officially announced by the clubs. The player is currently out injured, and won’t be available until by the looks of things.

As a result, he won’t be able to make it to the Spain national team despite being one of the best performing Spanish forwards in the league. The player scored 45 goals in 89 appearances for his former club, and has now completed a move away.

The forward spent two seasons on loan from Real Madrid with Rayo Vallecano between 2017 and 2019, scoring 38 goals in 62 matches. He has signed a five-year contract with the club, which will become valid from the January transfer window, with player registrations not possible right now.

During the summer transfer window, Espanyol were not willing to sell him for under €30 million at the very least. They also publicly referred clubs like Arsenal to his €75 million release clause. But surprisingly, they have let go of the player for a fee worth €8 million plus €3 million in add-ons.

Espanyol, as a result, will have to endure a loss on the €20 million fee that they paid for Raul De Tomas to sign him.
