Chelsea sacked their Champions League winning manager Thomas Tuchel in a shocking move. This move has hit everyone by surprise as the new Chelsea owners supported Tuchel and bought many players to build his team during the summer transfer window. However, just after a week of the transfer window, they have now sacked the German.

The Blues have now appointed former Brighton manager Graham Potter. Chelsea have paid Brighton a total of £21.5 million in compensation for Graham Potter and the other four members of staff that have followed him to the club.

Chelsea make Graham Potter the 4th highest paid manager in the Premier League

Graham Potter is now the 4th highest paid manager in the Premier League after he agreed to a massive £60 million deal for five years, which turns out to be £12 million per year.

Chelsea were interested in Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane but finally went with Graham Potter and many have praised this move.

Former Chelsea player and current Everton manager, Frank Lampard said: “I’m very happy for Graham Potter that he got the chance at a club like Chelsea. The easy choice would have been Mauricio Pochettino or Zinedine Zidane — I’m so pleased a coach like Graham got acknowledged for the good job he has done.”

Caretaker Bournemouth manager Gary O’Neil said: “Having watched Brighton all week I can fully understand why Chelsea would be interested in him, he’s done a fantastic job. Well coached team, good in possession and good out of possession. He’s obviously a top coach.”
