India is now at the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup after the team defeated Hong Kong by a huge margin of 40 runs in a Group A match at the Dubai Internation Stadium on Wednesday. Virat Kohli made an impressive comeback by scoring 55 runs off 49 deliveries whereas Suryakumar Yadav scored 68 runs in 26 deliveries. Hong Kong’s Babar Hayat remained the highest run-getter by scoring 41 runs.

Asia Cup: India vs Hong Kong Highlights

The captain of Hong Kong Nizakat Khan won the toss and elected to bowl first. India posted a total of 192 but Hong Kong could only muster 132 runs for five in 20 overs. Babar Hayat mustered the highest runs in the team (41) whereas his other team members Kinchit Shah and Zeeshan Ali scored an unbeaten 20 and 26 respectively. In the first innings, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar opened the game. Kohli made an impressive knock after a long time, scoring 55 runs off 49 deliveries (not out) and Suryakumar Yadav mustered 68 runs out of 26 balls (not out) which added an unbeaten 98 runs for India. KL Rahul played a good knock too, scoring 26 out of 39 balls whereas Rohit Sharma scored just 21 the Indian skipper couldn’t make a good impression with his batting skills today but still made a record for himself. He became the first player to score 3500 runs in T20I cricket, followed by Martin Guptill and Virat Kohli. From hong kong, bowlers like Ayush Shukla and Mohammad Ghazanfar scalped one wicket each. Hardik Pandya who won the man of the match award in the previous match has been rested. In place of him, Rishabh Pant got an opportunity to play.
