West Ham United have reached an agreement with Chelsea for the signing of Emerson Palmieri. The Italian will be joining the Hammers for £13 million up-front plus £2 million in add-ons.

Only personal terms need to be discussed for the move to go through. In the coming days, further discussions will take place to seal his transfer away from West London. However, it seems likely that an agreement will be reached to finalise the move.

Chelsea have signed Marc Cucurella from Brighton this summer, and the Spaniard will be competing with Ben Chilwell for game time on the left flank. As a result, it will be unlikely that Emerson will get any game time under Thomas Tuchel this season.

The player spent the last season on loan at Lyon, and was quite impressive. This prompted the Blues to try and get him back after Chilwell sustained a season-ending injury. But, Lyon did not allow the player to move back to the Premier League and kept him for the remainder of the season.

Marcos Alonso, who filled in for Chilwell, is also on his way out of the club. He has an agreement with Barcelona, and it is only a matter of time before the move goes through for him.

With his move to West Ham, Emerson Palmieri will be reunited with former Chelsea teammate Kurt Zouma who also joined the Hammers last summer.
