This past season, the Argentinian was one of the top scorers in Serie A. He scored 17 goals and provided six assists in 36 games, one of the best returns in the league.

As a result, his arrival will push Victor Osimhen to up his level to retain his starting spot. Even if the Nigerian leaves next summer, Giovanni Simeone will be able to provide the much needed goals up front.

Simeone will be bolstering the attack after the departure of Dries Mertens and Lorenzo Insigne this summer. The Azzurri are also looking to bring in Giacomo Raspadori from Sassuolo this summer. They are yet to reach a breakthrough in negotiations, but have been able to agree a deal for the 27-year-old as of now.
