Zlatan Ibrahimovic has agreed to extend his contract for another season with AC Milan. The striker will not be retiring from football, and is still going to compete at the top level. He has finalised a one-year renewal with the club, and has accepted a lower salary as part of the deal.

The forward was one of the most important factors as AC Milan clinched the league title after many years. His leadership on and off the pitch was a crucial element that helped the Rossoneri clinch the league title on the final day of the season.

The veteran has agreed a new deal which is worth €1-1.5 million per season. Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be out of action for the next 6-7 months due to surgery on his knee. For the last six months of the season, the player had to go through extreme hardships and play with a big injury.

However, he has now decided to take some time off and recover fully before returning to the pitch. The Swede will be turning 41 in October, and will still be playing in one of Europe’s top five leagues, which is a remarkable feat in itself.

The Scudetto winners have signed Divock Origi as their new striker to compete alongside Olivier Giroud and Ante Rebic. They are also in the market for Charles de Ketelaere and Hakim Ziyech, and are pushing to complete both deals.
