Clement Lenglet is all set to join Tottenham Hotspur on a loan deal this summer. The two clubs are very close to an agreement, and it is only a matter of time before the transfer is finalised and made official by both the clubs.
The centre-back will be joining Spurs on a loan deal for the 22/23 season and Barcelona have already signed a replacement for him in Andreas Christensen. The Dane has been announced by the club as a free signing from Chelsea, and will be officially presented as a new arrival for the Blaugrana in the coming days.
Clement Lenglet to join Tottenham on loan
The Frenchman is down in the pecking order at his current club and is ‘practically invisible’ for Xavi, who prefers Eric Garcia, Gerard Pique and Ronald Araujo instead. And with Christensen, he has another new option at his disposal.
There has been no indication of an option to buy being included in the deal as of yet. Which means that Clement Lenglet will only spend the 22/23 season on loan at Tottenham.
The defender has been prone to mistakes during his recent years at Barcelona, which have caused him to be relegated to the bench. But, Antonio Conte wants to work with the player in London, and hopefully, he will be able to get the best out of him in a back three system.
