AMD has explicitly said that they would continue to support AM4, and the solution would be to increase the number of Ryzen CPUs with low-end choices and 3D V-Cache. After introducing its AM5 architecture, AMD’s plans for its AM4 platform have been subject to some rumors.

The future lies in the AM5 platform, which offers Ryzen 7000 CPUs with Zen 4 cores and compatibility for DDR5 and PCIe 5.0. However, AMD is aware that most of its customer base won’t switch to AM5 just yet. Thus, AMD teased us with its Ryzen 7 5800X3D and some conventional Ryzen 5000 alternatives about what to expect on the platform. According to the most recent speculations, the AM4 platform will likely see more of that activity in the months to come.

Leaker Greymon55 claims that AMD is indeed preparing multiple Zen 3D products under the AM4 brand and that more details will be released this month. Take note that only Zen 3D is mentioned, indicating that the Ryzen 5000 series will receive new CPUs. With more cache and an 8 core/16 thread design, AMD’s 5800X3D is based on the 5800X.

AMD might choose to use a Ryzen 9 V-Cache part and provide two CCDs, one with and one without the V-Cache, for a total of 128 MB of cache.

Even yet, the 5800X3D still has a 33 percent larger cache, which could lead to great gaming performance numbers. However, as we previously stated, we are unable to confirm whether or not such an SKU is currently in development by AMD. Regarding the entry-level components, AMD might have plans to switch its Ryzen 4000 Renoir-X chips with Cezanne-X chips from the Ryzen 5000 series.
