Cristiano Ronaldo dropped a bombshell yesterday, asking Manchester United to sell him if a good offer arrived. The Portugal captain returned to Old Trafford last season, and was able to be their top scorer with 18 Premier League goals.
However, he was one of the only positives of the season, as the club played out their worst season of the modern era. They finished with their lowest points total ever, and have also missed out on Champions League football in the process. With that said, here are three possible clubs where Cristiano Ronaldo could move to next.
Clubs where Cristiano Ronaldo could play next season
Chelsea
With Romelu Lukaku back at Inter, only Timo Werner and Kai Havertz can play up front for Chelsea, unless they keep Armando Broja. Given their bad luck with strikers ever since Diego Costa left, they could move for the 37-year-old. Todd Boehly has been in talks with Jorge Mendes over a potential move, although nothing advanced has been discussed yet.
Bayern Munich
Although Bayern Munich have denied any links with Cristiano Ronaldo in the past, the departure of Robert Lewandowski could facilitate a move for the five-time Ballon d’Or award winner.
Napoli
The Azzurri can offer Ronaldo Champions League football next season, and need to replace the outgoing Dries Mertens and Lorenzo Insigne. So, a move for one of the best strikers in the world would surely be a great short-term investment for the club.
