Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun has officially stated that the brand will be launching a smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset, in all likelihood, it will be Xiaomi 12 Ultra though the name has not been explicitly put out there as of yet. As per the executive, the upcoming phone will be an upgrade in terms of user experience and it will be launching as soon as next month.
Xiaomi 12 Ultra rumored specifications:
CEO Lei Jun, in his latest Weibo post, mentions that the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 powered smartphone featured the codename 8475 and it is a major leap in terms of performance and energy consumption. The chipset launched last month and Xiaomi and Qualcomm have spent a lot of time fine-tuning it.
The chip is based on TSMC’s 4nm process and it involves three cluster architectures of large Cortex X2, a large core A710, along with a small-core A510. Going by previous reports, the 12 Ultra is set to feature the SD 8+ Gen1 chip but there is a lot of uncertainty in terms of which brand will be the first to release a device with this chip.
Top brands such as Motorola, OnePlus, ASUS, Realme, and iQOO are all involved in launching their own devices with this chip and it is likely that we will see them release in the coming month or two.
The 12 Ultra is set to be the successor to the Mi 11 Ultra 5G. The Chinese brand has already partnered with Leica to provide an amazing camera experience to users.
