AC Milan have reached an agreement on personal terms with Renato Sanches of Lille and are working to find an agreement with the French club over the transfer fee. The midfielder has been identified as a priority transfer target by Paolo Maldini, and talks are ongoing between the two clubs over a potential transfer.
Since January, the Rossoneri have had a five-year deal ready for the midfielder. He is expected to be a replacement for Franck Kessie in the team. The Ivorian has agreed a contract with Barcelona, and will be joining them as a free agent in the coming weeks.
AC Milan working to sign Renato Sanches
The former Bayern Munich player has been able to revive his career with Lille, and won the Ligue 1 title with them in 20/21. He has attracted interest from top clubs like Liverpool, but is still with the former league winners.
But this summer, Renato Sanches is expected to move on and if an agreement is reached, will be joining the Serie A champions.
With only one year remaining on the 24-year-old’s deal, Milan should be able to negotiate a reasonable transfer fee for the player. They are also working to sign centre-back Sven Botman, but are now facing competition from Newcastle United in the Premier League who are pushing to sign the defender.
Botman would be the direct replacement for Alessio Romagnoli, who recently left the club upon the expiry of his contract as well.
