Top 10 active players with the most goals

10. Neymar Jr. (PSG and Brazil) – 348 goals

The Brazilian winger kicks off the list of the players with the most goals. He is currently the second-highest goalscorer in the history of his country, behind Pele. And in due course he is expected to hold the record all for himself.

9. Gonzalo Higuain (Inter Miami and Argentina) – 352 goals

For the younger football fans, Higuain might not be a very well-known name considering his last few years with Chelsea and Juventus. But, the former Napoli and Argentina international was one of the best forwards in the world at one point, and makes it to the list as a result.

8. Edin Dzeko (Inter Milan and Bosnia) – 370 goals

Dzeko took over the number 9 shirt from Romelu Lukaku at Inter, and has been able to deliver when needed. The Bosnian is one of the surprise players with the most goals for club and country.

7. Edinson Cavani (Manchester United and Uruguay) – 416 goals

El Matador has left Manchester United, and will most likely be heading to La Liga this summer. He has been an exceptional striker for PSG and Napoli over the last few years, before a slow spell at Old Trafford.

6. Karim Benzema (Real Madrid and France) – 425 goals

Arguably the most prolific forward in the world right now, Karim Benzema is only getting better with age. The Frenchman helped Real Madrid win the Champions League and La Liga, and won the top scorer award in both competitions this year.

5. Luis Suarez (Atletico Madrid and Uruguay) – 505 goals

Suarez is one of the best number 9s of the modern era. He played for Liverpool and Barcelona in the past, before moving to Atletico Madrid and helping them win La Liga in his first season.

4. Zlatan Ibrahimovic (AC Milan and Sweden) – 554 goals

Zlatan Ibrahimovic helped AC Milan win the Scudetto this past season, and has played for some of the best clubs across Europe. The 40-year-old has been going strong despite his age, and is easily among the best to ever lace up a pair of boots.

3. Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich and Poland) – 584 goals

The Bayern Munich forward won the European Golden Boot this season. He has been able to score 30+ goals consistently in the German league, and is in the top 3 of players with the most goals for club and country.

2. Lionel Messi (PSG and Argentina) – 769 goals

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo scored seven goals between them this weekend.🤯

Messi is South America’s all-time highest goalscorer, and is second in the list of players with the most goals of all-time. He is Barcelona’s top scorer, and has won seven career Ballon d’Or awards – a feat that might never be replicated.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United and Portugal) – 815 goals

The Portugal captain holds the record for the most goals scored in football. He is Real Madrid’s all-time top scorer, and also holds the same record in the entire history of the Champions League.
