Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the signing of Ivan Perisic on a free transfer. The 33-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the London club and becomes the first major signing for Spurs this summer.
He decided to not renew his contract with Inter after seven years with them, and has been officially announced as a new signing. The Croatian reunites with Antonio Conte at Tottenham, after the two won the Serie A title together in 2020/21.
Ivan Perisic officially joins Spurs for free
“We are delighted to announce the transfer of Ivan Perisic,” said a Spurs statement.
“The vastly experienced Croatia international will join the club on 1 July following the expiration of his contract at Internazionale and has agreed a deal that will run until 2024.”
The winger posted an emotional farewell on social media, acknowledging the last seven years and thanking the fans for their support. “It was an unforgettable learning experience for me as a player and for my whole family,” he added.
“To the team, the staff, to all the employees but most importantly to the fans: you will always have a special place in my heart.”
Antonio Conte wanted Perisic as a priority signing, and now has his man ahead of the new season. With the impressive squad of players at the disposal of the Italian manager, we are likely to see a solid performance from the team in the coming season.
