Sony has launched a new pair of truly wireless earbuds, these new buds are a part of the LinkBuds Series of the brand and are dubbed the LinkBuds S. These buds are the lightest pair of earphones from the Japanese brand, let us take a look at their detailed specifications:
Sony LinkBuds S specifications:
The LinkBuds S arrives with an ambient mode that allows the users to hear their surroundings, it also has support for a high-quality LDAC Bluetooth codec. As opposed to the LinkBuds version which had an open-loop design, the latest version will have a more conventional closed design. However, these are not just any other pair of TWS earbuds like those on the market as they weigh just 4.8g.
What this essentially means is that the buds are the ‘lightest and smallest’ earbuds on the market. Considering that it packs active noise cancellation along with high-resolution audio while being so light, is rather remarkable.
The Japanese brand has an even easier way to market these buds now as even the best of the best such as Apple’s AirPods Pro weighs around 5.4g per bud while the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 weigh 5g per bud. The WF-1000XM4 is slightly heavier at 7.3g.
Despite being light in weight, the buds arrive with 6 hours of battery life with ANC on and can last up to 20 hours with the charging case. They have an IPX4 water resistance rating. The LinkBuds S has been in the works for quite some time now, it is finally out now and pre-orders have been opened starting from $200 or 15,500 INR.
