Real Madrid centre-back Eder Militao is set for a contract renewal in the coming weeks. The board has prepared a new offer for the player and it is expected to be complete very soon. New deals for other key players, Vinicius Jr and Luka Modric, are also on the table and will be finalised before the end of the season.
Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger has been linked with the Spanish giants in recent weeks. The Germany international is out of a contract at the end of the season, and will have to leave unless the Blues can get him to stay. He can’t currently negotiate with the board since Chelsea have been sanctioned and the takeover bidding is going on right now.
Eder Militao deal to go through regardless of circumstances
Regardless of the situation surrounding Rudiger, Madrid are impressed with what they have seen from Eder Militao. And as a result, they will offer him a new deal to stay at the club.
His current contract runs out in 2025, but Madrid are keen to get him to commit to a long-term future at the club. He was signed from Porto in 2019, and Los Blancos paid €50 million for his signature.
He has started almost every game for Real Madrid this summer, and is their first choice centre-back alongside David Alaba. While the team is looking for reinforcements in central defense, his position as the star defender is seemingly guaranteed considering his remarkable performances on the pitch.
