The House of the Dead Remake is making its way to PlayStation and Xbox platforms

Forever Entertainment and Megapixel Studio have been working on The House of the Dead: Remake in an attempt to resurrect the popular arcade light gun franchise. Certain reports concerning The House of the Dead Remake being ported to PS4, as well as other platforms, have finally been officially confirmed.

The official House of the Dead Remake was announced in April 2021, with intentions for a Nintendo Switch release. With the announcement that it would be published on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia, a larger audience will be able to enjoy this modern twist on a classic shooter.

The House of the Dead PS4 release rumour first arose in early April, when several PS4 online servers teased a graphic teasing the game’s release. It was predicted that players on other platforms would have to wait several months for a native release compared to the Switch, but less than a month later, eager fans have gotten their wish.

Additional platform support will be available starting April 28th, according to The House of the Dead Remake’s official Twitter account.

Players take on swarms of zombie monsters in a fast-paced rail shooter environment in the short gameplay clip, which reveals a lot of graphic information about how it compares to its 1996 debut. Some attempted remakes of vintage games have had difficulty upgrading their visuals, but House of the Dead’s characteristic zombies have maintained their frightening aesthetic over the shift to HD. As a result, the sound design, cursor, blood splatter decals, and other artistic choices from the original House of the Dead have been painstakingly preserved for a new generation of gamers.

Here are the new features coming to House of the Dead Remake

  • A rather large graphical uplift
  • Local two-player multiplayer
  • Multiple endings
  • Photo mode
  • Online achievements
  • Armory with unlockable weapons
  • Hordes of the undead monstrosities in a new game mode
  • Gallery with encountered enemies and bosses

As a way to bring old and new fans together, a lot of new content has been added to the original game. A recent Nintendo Q+A highlighted how The House of the Dead: Remake’s revised controls, such as “gyro targeting controls mixed with analogue buttons,” will be controllable specifically for handheld devices. Fans of the first game will like the return of foes and different endings, as well as leaderboards, achievements, and a photo option.
