MediaTek has surprised all by announcing the latest Dimensity 1300 chip without hyping the chip up. This chip is expected to make its debut on the OnePlus Nord 2T/3. The latest chip has been built on TSMC’s 6nm process, it features an octa-core processor with four Cortex-A78 cores.
One Ultra core, one core running up to 3GHz, and three Super, up to 2.6GHz. It features four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores, clocking up to 2GHz. In terms of graphics processing, it has a 9-core Arm Mali-G77 MC9.
The Dimensity 1300 chip supports up to 168Hz display at FullHD+ resolution of 2520×1080 pixels. The chip can be paired with nearly 16GB LPDDR4x RAM. The Dimensity 1300 supports UFS 3.1 storage.
The ISP supports up to 200MP cameras with the ability to capture multi-person portrait mode video and 4K HDR video. The chip has accelerated hardware AV1 decoding for faster 4K streaming.
MediaTek has not yet shared which devices will feature this new chipset, but OnePlus appears to be the first to do so with its Nord 3. The Dimensity 1300 chip will offer top-notch performance, most likely similar to the Snapdragon 778G chip.
