Tite is expected to leave Brazil after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and Pep Guardiola has already been approached by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) about succeeding the 60-year-old coach as Selecao head coach.

Brazil Aiming for World Cup

Brazil is now focusing all of their efforts on attaining their primary goal of winning the World Cup, but they are also making plans for the national team’s future.

Tite will leave the team after the World Cup, according to Globo Esporte, a few weeks after CBF head Juninho Paulista informed that the Brazilian coach will “probably leave” after the event.

After Ednaldo Rodrigues became president of the CBF at the end of March, Guardiola is seen as the frontrunner to succeed Tite. Members of the CBF decided that Tite’s successor will be from outside the country, with Manchester City manager Jose Mourinho being the obvious choice.

Hiring Guardiola for Head Coach

Guardiola’s brother and agent, Pere, has already been approached by the CBF, who has offered him a four-year contract until the 2026 World Cup. If Guardiola signs the aforementioned contract, he will make roughly 12 million euros per year after taxes, which is less than his current salary of 20 million euros.

CBF members are optimistic that Guardiola will be named the new coach of the Selecao. Manchester City has extended the Catalan coach’s contract until 2023. As a result, one of the most pressing topics is whether he would leave this summer or stay for the following season and complete his contract.
