The reports about the next flagship AMD Radeon RX 6950XT boasting a ‘new’ colour of the reference cooling solution being true have been proven. This device will feature the same design as the RX 6800XT Midnight Black Edition (from what we can tell). The fact that all RX 6X50XT versions are black was not included in the initial rumours.
Disclosure, a source with a near-perfect track record, has supplied us with a photo of the entire new family of refurbished models. Three new models are planned to debut on May 10th, not April 20th as previously announced, according to the information we got. As a result, the date has been pushed back, although the source has not indicated why. On the same day, AMD Radeon the RX 6400 for the DIY market will also be released.
All of those cards have the same new memory spec of 18 Gbps, but we’re still working out the details of the adjustments that were made to that new SKUs. Increased boost clocks and board power are still on the table.
AMD Radeon RX 6X50XT series comes with a newly redesigned cooler
It is now a dual-fan design, rather than a single-fan design. As a result, it matches practically all custom RX 6600 XT variants, however, it may have been necessary to fulfil new power and performance standards for this SKU. The same can be said with the RX 6750XT, which now has a third fan. Both MBA (manufactured by AMD) variants are quite likely to be sold through the company’s official store. For the RX 6500XT single-fan reference design, this was not the case.
The RX 6X50XT series is likely to be released in the following weeks (after all we are still a month away from launch). By May 10th, specifications, pricing, and availability of custom designs should be obvious.
