The Red Team has formally announced a lot of CPUs as a Spring launch and among them, three of them formed the entry-level offering that has been missing for AMD since they announced the Ryzen 3 3100, 3300X. Though they never had them in stock, thus leading to ridiculous pricing, Intel did take advantage of this.
Intel’s stock of Core i3 and i5s have been excellent, so a lot of entry-level users, budget Gaming PC builders still prefer them. To address this issue specifically, AMD has launched three new processors, all based on older Zen 2 architecture – AMD Ryzen 3 4100, Ryzen 5 4500 and Ryzen 5 4600G.
The Ryzen 5s will be using 6 cores and 12 threads while the Ryzen 3 4100 will be limited to 4 cores and 8 threads still. All these CPUs come with 65W TDP and is paired with a Wraith Stealth cooler while the best one in the stack – the Ryzen 5 4600G is an APU with Radeon graphics, having a base clock of 3.7GHz and up to 4.2GHz boost.
So, a lot of budget gamers who have been waiting for the rightful successor to the Ryzen 5 3400G, could use this as a replacement while the Ryzen 5 5600G is also getting a lot of discounts off late. Though a bit older, still new offerings from AMD is always welcome and considering how easy it is to buy a cheap AMD motherboard, budget PC builders will be happy seeing these 3 offerings by the Red team.
Coming to pricing and availability, this AMD Ryzen 5 4600G will cost you $154, fair pricing if they sell at MSRP, while the Ryzen 5 4500 could be a favourite for those who already have or eyeing to pair with a budget GPU, priced at $129. Last but not the least, this entry-level Ryzen 3 4100 will cost only $99 and that will definitely bring a lot of AMD options at a $50 price increase one will get an AMD CPU to buy at a budget.
