Jamshedpur FC ran through Odisha FC with a 5-1 win, cementing their spot at the top of the table. Here are the three talking points from the game.
Greg Stewart proves he’s the best in the ISL
The Scottish forward has been the heart and soul of Jamshedpur FC’s attacking display this season. He has provided 10 goals and 10 assists this season, the only player to achieve double figures in goals and assists. Stewart provided two assists in the 5-1 win to move past Ahmed Jahouh in the assist charts and comfortably sit at the top of the list.
With 19 games played, Greg Stewart is arguably the favourite to be the player of the season when all is said and done.
Odisha FC’s disappointing end to the season
Odisha were winless in their last five games in the ISL, picking up only two points from an available 15. As a result, the momentum that they had going for them towards the middle of the season has all dried up, and they have to settle for a mid-table finish. The one sided display from Jamshedpur FC meant that Odisha were sent packing with a very disappointing loss, as the league leaders showed their class from start to finish.
The dream set-up for Jamshedpur FC
Not only have the Men of Steel qualified for the semi-finals for the first time, but they are also close to securing their first league title. In their final game of the season, Jamshedpur FC will be taking on ATK Mohun Bagan in second place.
The Mariners have three points less than the league leaders, and need a win to tense things up. However, a draw or a win in JFC’s favour will surely win them the title.
