The South Korean giant is not only bringing some laptops for its wide customers but also expanding its huge monitor market by announcing the premium end curved gaming monitors. At the CES 2020, Samsung has announced G9 and G7 curved QLED gaming monitors with 1000R curvature.
This is Samsung’s new line-up of groundbreaking curved Odyssey gaming monitors which Samsung says has been completely reimagined with gamers in mind. The 1000R curve design is made to fit within the full span of human vision.
The new Odyssey portfolio proves that Samsung is continuing to drive innovation with industry-leading technology and design that allow gamers significantly better performances. Samsung’s new curved gaming monitor line-up has been completely redesigned to give gamers an entirely new and immersive experience.

The Odyssey gaming monitor lineup consists of the G9 model with an industry-leading 49-inch display and the G7 model available in both 32-inch and 27-inch. In spite of featuring an extremely deep curvature, these monitors are equipped with the stunning QLED panels.
These monitors are TÜV Rheinland certified and they feature 1ms response time and 240hz RapidCurve. The gaming monitors even support the NVIDIA G-SYNC as well as the Adaptive-Sync on DP1.4.
49-inch Samsung G9 Odyssey Gaming Monitor
The G9 gaming monitor is the flagship monitor with 49-inch configuration and is the world’s first gaming monitor that offers Dual Quad High-Definition DQHD i.e. 5120×1440 resolution. It also features a rapid, 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, 32:9 aspect ratio, a deep and immersive 1000R curvature, and a peak brightness of 1000 cd/m2.
The monitor features Quantum dot technology combined with an HDR1000 VA panel to produce lifelike colours in vivid detail. The G9 has a unique design with a glossy white exterior and an Iron Man-like infinity core lighting glowing rear core, which includes 52 colours and five lighting effect options.
32-inch & 27-inch Samsung G7 Odyssey Gaming Monitors
The affordable end of gaming monitors is also feature-packed like its high-end brother, featuring two models with 32-inch and 27-inch displays. The G7 gaming monitors come with Quad-High Definition (QHD; 2560×1440 resolution) and 16:9 aspect ratio.
Rest features like the quick response time and refresh rate, deep curved display, and overall performance is the same as the G9 curved gaming monitor. Although its HDR compliant, they are limited to an HDR600 rating with a peak brightness of 600 nits which is more than adequate for the smooth gaming experience.
The G7 has been completely redesigned with a sleek, matte black exterior and colour-changing rear core lighting that can remain static or dim during gameplay, as well as change colours based on gamers’ preferences. In addition, the G7 has added dynamic shapes and lighting to the monitor`s front bezel.
