Rohit Sharma made it happen once again after MS Dhoni. Under his captaincy, India got back its No. 1 T20 spot for the first time in six years. On Sunday, India defeated West Indies in the third match by 17 runs in the T20Is at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Rohit is the second captain after MS Dhoni to achieve this height.

After the 3-0 series win, India had dethroned England surpassing 270 points. England has a total of 269 points in 39 points.

The last time India has this position was on May 3, 2016, under MS Dhoni’s leadership. India could hold on to this position between February 12 and May 3.

On Sunday, Suryakumar Yadav and Venkatesh Iyer helped the team to set a run target of 185 runs. Harshal Patel had created a tough situation as he gave only 22 runs taking 3 wickets. India had a 17 run victory at Eden Gardens, Kolkata in the third and final T20I. India had a double clean sweep against West Indies at 3-0 in both the T20 series and the ODI series.

After leading the Indian team to win against New Zealand 3-0, Rohit Sharma’s team won the West indies 3-0 in the ODI series and T20I series for 3-0. Rohit Sharma won 14 out of 15 matches at home as a skipper.

He became the first Captain to lead four series whitewashes in the T20s. India clean-swept Sri Lanka in 2017, West Indies in 2018, New Zealand in 2022 and West Indies in 2022.
