Bengaluru FC continued their remarkable turnaround of the season with a 3-1 win against title contenders Jamshedpur FC. Here are the three key talking points from the game.
Sunil Chhetri joins Bart Ogbeche at the top
The Indian skipper was level on the all-time ISL goalscoring charts with the Spaniard. But, with his second half equaliser against Jamshedpur to kick-start the comeback, he has now surpassed Corominas to become the joint-highest goalscorer in the history of the ISL alongside Bartholomew Ogbeche with 49 goals.
Cleiton Silva the star of the Bengaluru FC comeback
The Brazilian starred in the second half and was the man behind the win for Bengaluru FC. His double in the second half made it 3-1 for Bengaluru after Chima’s early goal for Jamshedpur.
The BFC forward scored a thunderous strike from a throw-in for the second goal that allowed them to bury the game and seal all three points against their top four rivals.
Unlucky for Jamshedpur FC
Despite having a number of chances throughout the game, Jamshedpur FC were unable to get another goal after their early opener. They will be disappointed with their performance today, and will have to compensate for the setback today with a win in their upcoming games in the ISL.
Bengaluru FC, on the other hand, are in the top four and look set to finish in the playoff spots this time around. They are currently on a 3-match win streak and face league leaders Hyderabad FC next.
