Buying a GPU in 2021 was a nightmare for gamers across the globe, thanks to the chip shortage and inflation along with insane demand. The two new GPU series – AMD Radeon RX 6000 and GeForce RTX 30 series have completely taken over the market as you now have at least one GPU in every price range.
Well, if you have still been unfortunate to get hands on one of these new gaming GPUs then you will be glad to know that in 2022 finally the prices seem to decline more than ever. As Videocardz points out, 3DCenter.org has recently published the updated GPU price chart updated last month.
Interestingly, as per the update these GeForce RTX 30 cards are now ‘only’ 177% more expensive than they should be, previously it was 185%. On the other hand, for AMD things seem more positive as there’s a reduction from 178% to 167%, however, it should be noted that these prices are still not effected by the huge crypto price crash we have seen recently.
Keeping our fingers crossed, we could see another price drop in the next update as Ethereum, which has been the most-profitable mining cryptocurrency, has just marked its lowest value since August. This news might be a really lucrative one for gamers who have always cursed these miners and thanks to NVIDIA’s LHR, mining on a lot of budget GPUs makes no sense these days.
Now, add to the cypto price crash and improving availability, while we cannot expect to suddenly reduce to its MSRP still if this month price inflation could drop to 150% that would be good enough for enthusiasts.
