Tanguy Ndombele has returned to Lyon from Tottenham on a loan deal until the end of the season. There is a buy option included in the deal worth €65 million, which will become valid at the end of the season only.
According to reports, Lyon will cover a part of his wages alongside Tottenham Hotspur. The deal has been made official by both clubs, and he will feature for the club where he made his name once more. Lyon are expected to pay a £1.2 million loan fee for the player.
Tanguy Ndombele returns to France
After showing a lot of promise in his first spell with Lyon, Tottenham went all-in to sign the midfielder. And even though they got their man for a club record fee worth £55 million in 2019, he has now been moved on. However, the likelihood that Lyon will spend €65 million to make his return permanent is very slim.
Tanguy Ndombele made 91 appearances for Spurs during his time in England, and scored 10 goals for the Lilywhites. Of them, 16 appearances came under Antonio Conte this season.
The return of Ndombele will help provide cover for the departure of Bruno Guimaraes to Newcastle United. Lyon have also completed the signing of Romain Faivre on a permanent deal from fellow Ligue 1 club Brest to help improve their chances of finishing in a top spot at the end of the season.
