Here’s the trailer for Pokemon Legends: Arceus featuring Hisuian evolutions

The three starter Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus will feature Hisuian evolutions, according to a new trailer, albeit their final designs are obscured in the trailer and on the game’s official website. This trailer was most likely made some time ago, given the designs for these Pokémon have been leaked online and can be seen right now.

Each generation of the mainline Pokémon games usually introduces three new starter Pokémon, each of which belongs to the Grass, Fire, or Water types. All of the starters in Pokémon Legends: Arceus were introduced in separate games/regions, thus it’s a little different. In Pokémon Gold and Silver, Cyndaquil hails from the Johto region, Oshawatt hails from Unova in Pokémon Black and White, and Rowlet hails from Alola in Pokémon Sun and Moon. These characters were most likely picked to appear in the new game since the Pokémon starters all have a Japanese historical theme, with Arceus placed in an ancient version of the Sinnoh area.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus will be published in a few days, and trailers for the game are continuously being released in the lead-up to its release. The three starters will have Hisuian counterparts of their final evolutions, according to a new clip-on on The Official Pokémon YouTube Channel, however, their forms remain unknown. This is the first time that regional variants for starter Pokémon have appeared in the Pokémon series; previously, the only alternate forms available were Mega Evolutions and Gigantamax forms.

Only shadows of the three Hisuian Pokémon evolutions are seen in the teaser and on the official Pokémon Legends: Arceus website at this moment. A few differences can be seen in the photographs, such as Hisuian Decidueye’s straw cap instead of a hood, Hisuian Samurott’s crooked spikes on its horn, and Hisuian Typhlosion’s stringy mane of flames.

Official sources have yet to reveal whether these Hisuian evolutions have new types or if the player has done anything special to unlock them, but this information can be found for anyone wanting more information before the game’s official launch.

Unfortunately for those expecting to start their next monster-collecting trip without spoilers, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, like many other games in the series, has leaked online, and long play streams are accessible for those who want to be spoiled.

The Pokémon Company appears to be disregarding the presence of these leaks and continuing to advertise the game as usual, presumably for the benefit of those who want to avoid spoilers and those who want to play the game for themselves. Thankfully, the game is nearing completion, which means fans won’t have to wait long to get their hands on it.
