January is already nearing its end, Xiaomi is now about to lift the veils off its Redmi K50 Series. The rumor mill has begun to gain traction as more specs of the Redmi K50 lineup are leaked in China.
One of the leaks comes from popular Chinese tipster Panda is Bald, the tipster recently took to Weibo to leak and shed some light on the upcoming Redmi K50 Series. He mentions that the series will have a Sony IMX766 sensor as the flagship’s primary sensor. This is the same sensor that is featured on reputed flagships such as the Xiaomi 12, Realme GT 2 Pro, and Oppo Find X3 Pro.
The Weibo post does not specify which Redmi K50 model will get the sensor, but if we were to believe the previous leaks, they indicate that the sensor will be featured on either the Redmi K50 Pro, the Redmi K50 Pro Plus, or both.
As per previous leaks, the Redmi K50 Pro is rumored to feature a 6.67″ Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 4,700mAh battery, and 120W charging support.
The Redmi K50 Pro Gaming Edition is set to launch alongside the regular Redmi K50 and the K50 Pro. The gaming-centric phone is said to have a 6.67″ display with narrow bezels along with a triple rear camera and 16MP selfie camera on the front. The Redmi K50 Pro Gaming Edition will have a dual VC cooling system, it could include gaming shoulder triggers and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner as well.
In addition to this, a few days ago, leaked renders and the casing of the Redmi K50 Pro had surfaced online. The leaked render of the Redmi K50 Pro revealed that the smartphone will come with a single punch-hole cutout in the top-center position and the display will come with rounded corners, similar to that of the phone’s body.
The rear will have a camera module that is placed to the top-left corner, it is a black-colored square section that will hold the three camera sensors in a triangular format, and a silver-colored rectangular section will house the LED flash.
Coming to the case renders, gizmochina has revealed some exclusive images of the transparent silicone case for the Redmi K50 Pro smartphone. It appears to be in accordance with all the specs mentioned above.
Xiaomi has also officially confirmed that it will debut the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 on one of the models in the Redmi K50 Series. The chip is the flagship chip by MediaTek for 2022, and it is built on TSMC’s industry-leading 4nm process. From Geekbench scores, the Dimensity 9000 is on par and it can also outperform the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip in many areas.
