The first two weeks of 2022 have been quite busy in the tech world, this was due to CES 2022 and multiple smartphone launches. Well, the same cannot be said for the upcoming week as there are not as many announcements. The products that are coming are mostly smartphones in India, which are already out in the other markets. Let us take a look at the ones set to launch.
This week will witness the launch of three smartphones in India, all of them out in other markets around the world.
Realme 9i:
The Realme 9i was officially released a few days back in Vietnam, the handset is now all set to launch in India on January 18th.
It will be announced via a pre-recorded live stream at 12:30 PM on the brand’s official YouTube channel. You can check out their Twitter feed for the updates that happened during the launch.
Here is a summary of the specs of the device, the Realme 9i comes with a 6.6″ FHD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, it is powered by the Snapdragon 680 chip that is paired with an LPDDR4X RAM, UFS 2.2 storage, and a triple camera setup comprising a 50MP primary sensor, a 2MP macro shooter, and a 2MP monochrome lens. It has a 16MP selfie shooter and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
It runs on realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 OS with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.
Xiaomi 11T Pro:
The Xiaomi 11T Pro is set to be released in India on the 19th of January, as is with any Xiaomi event in the country, this one will also flag off at 12 PM on the official YouTube channel of the company.
Alternatively, you can check our website out as we will keep you updated! Yesterday, Xiaomi disclosed that the handset will go on sale on the day it is announced itself, customers will be able to order the device from 2 PM onwards.
The Xiaomi i11T Pro, which is also known as ‘The HuperPhone’, initially went official in September 2021. It will be pitted against the OnePlus 9RT in India.
The device has a 6.67″ FHD+ AMOLED 10-bit display with a refresh rate of 120Hz with Dolby Vision support. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 888 chip paired with an LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, an integrated liquid cooling system, and a triple camera setup.
The camera setup has a 108MP primary sensor with an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 5MP telemacro lens. It features a 16MP selfie shooter. Dolby Atmos-supported dual stereo speakers tuned by Harman Kardon, MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 OS, and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging.
Tecno Pova Neo:
The Tecno Pova Neo debuted in Nigeria in early December 2021. It is set to make its early entry in India on the 20th of January. Similar to the Xiaomi 11T Pro, the phone will go on sale the day it is announced.
The Tecno Pova Neo will be the cheapest of all three smartphones launching next week. It features a 6.8″ HD+ LCD display, a MediaTek Helio G25 chip paired with 6GB RAM+128GB storage configuration, a triple camera setup with a 13MP primary sensor, and an 8MP selfie shooter.
It runs on Android 11 OS-based HiOS 7.6 and has a 6,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
Bonus: The Motorola Moto Tab G70:
While it is clearly not a smartphone, the Motorola Moto Tab G70 will finally release in India on the 18th of January, it could go on sale the same day it launches. The tablet officially launched in Brazil a couple of days back.
The Moto Tab G70 is a rebadged version of the Lenovo Tab P11 Plus. It comes with an 11″ 2K LCD display, a MediaTek Helio G90T SoC, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and a primary 13MP sensor with an 8MP selfie shooter.
It has IP52 certification, quad-speakers with Dolby Atmos support, Android 11, Google Entertainment Space, Google Kids Space, and a 7,700mAh battery with support for 20W fast charging.
