Anwar El Ghazi is set to go to Everton, with the two clubs reaching an agreement over the transfer of the player. While it is true that El Ghazi was discussed as part of Lucas Digne’s transfer to Aston Villa, the deal is separate from the one involving the left-back.
Both the deals are done, and will be confirmed shortly. They have both been given the here we go signal by renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, and it is only a matter of time before things have been made official.
Anwar El Ghazi on his way to Everton
The winger is set to complete his medical as a new Everton player today, and will be the third winter signing for them after Vitaliy Mykolenko and Nathan Patterson.
Aston Villa had placed a £15 million price tag on the player, and Everton weren’t willing to pay that price tag initially. But it is now believed that the player will be signed on a loan deal, with the option to make the transfer permanent also included. West Ham were interested in recruiting the player, but have been beaten to the signing by the Toffees.
Since the arrival of Steven Gerrard, Anwar El Ghazi has found it hard for playing time to come by, with only 44 minutes under his belt. As a result, a move away from Villa Park is good for him since he will have a chance to earn more playing time under Rafa Benitez at Goodison.
