A Reddit member named string posted to the AMD Subreddit about an HP Mini PC that will be available soon. Surprisingly, the HP Mini PC has a quad-core AMD Athlon CPU with eight threads.
A leaked spec sheet for the HP ProDesk 405 G8 Desktop Mini PC has indicated that the AMD Athlon Gold processor family would be used for the 47M79EA variant. The Athlon processors in question were the discreetly introduced entry-level Athlon Gold PRO 4150GE processors, which included a Zen 2 core architecture and were first sighted in Asian Pacific markets a few weeks ago. The processor has four cores, however, the image shows that it has eight threads while it was originally claimed that it would only have four. The eight threads are thought to be an error in the listing.
The new HP Mini PC with AMD Athlon features a 3.3 GHz base clock and a maximum peak clock speed of 3.7 GHz, as well as 4 MB of L3 cache. The AMD PRO 565 chipset comes with AMD Radeon Graphics integrated and 8 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz memory.
The AMD Athlon Gold 4150GE is also expected to be accessible only through OEM systems. However, Ali Express, an online merchant, was seen selling the chipset for USD 118.29 a few weeks ago, and it was presumed to be sold by a third party due to the high price.
