Just prior to the launch of the upcoming 65W based Alder Lake-S desktop processors at CES 2022, Intel has teased a new CPU that could potentially reach up to a whopping 5.5 GHz. We know that the Intel Core i9-12900K is a monster with insane performance, matching the performance level of a Ryzen 9 5950X.
Previously too, as Videocardz points out, rumours flooded that Intel is working on a Core i9-12900KS CPU with all Performance-core boost frequency at 5.2 GHz. This is the info though Videocardz previously leaked and we see in the HWINFO screenshot posted by Intel.
However, according to the social media post, the highest boost clock of the 12900KS would be 5.5 GHz and that’s insane as we know the Core i9-12900K already draws a huge amount of power in return for insane performance. However, as Intel has already made it official, maybe it is planning to launch the best CPU in a grand way to blow away its competition.
This fastest Core i9-12900KS could be the answer to AMD’s Ryzen 6000 CPU series with 3D V-Cache, scheduled to announce today. As Videocardz points out, the launch of this beastly CPU will not be very quick as they predict a late Q1 2022 launch.
