Intel’s entry-level Alder Lake-powered Pentium and Celeron CPUs appears in the latest listings

Geekbench has leaked the latest Intel Core i7-12700F Non-K Alder Lake CPU benchmark, which demonstrates great performance against AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800X.

The Intel Core i7-12700F is one of the Non-K Alder Lake CPUs set to debut at CES 2022 next week. The CPU is also one of the few Non-K chips to preserve the unlocked ‘K’ series siblings’ hybrid design. The chip has 12 cores (8+4) and 20 threads as a result. The CPU’s base rate will be 2.1 GHz, with a boost clock of up to 4.9 GHz. In a 65W package, there will additionally be 25 MB of L3 cache. The CPU should have a maximum turbo power drain of fewer than 150 Watts.

The Intel Core i7-12700 was tested on an ASUS TUF Gaming Z690-PLUS WiFi D4 motherboard in the leaked benchmark. The motherboard was equipped with 32 GB of DDR4-3200 memory and was a DDR4 variant. We’re not even looking at the full capabilities of this CPU because we’re using a balanced power strategy in Windows 10. Despite this, the performance appears to be excellent for the price.

In single-core tests, the Intel Core i7-12700F Non-K Desktop CPU received 1849 points, and in multi-core tests, it received 11277 points. This is a 10% advantage over the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X on average, and what makes this performance even better is that the 12700F will be priced at roughly $330 US, which is $80 US less than the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X on Newegg. When compared to the same shop listings (BestBuy), the Alder Lake choice saves you up to $110 US and provides greater performance and power efficiency.

We’ve also seen prior leaks claiming that the same CPU is nearly as fast as the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, which is significantly more amazing and demonstrates what can be done with the chip operating on Windows 11 and the maximum performance power plan activated.

In the same way that Intel’s K-series chips shook up the high-end category, Intel’s Non-K lineup can change things up in the entry-level and mainstream area. The new Intel boxed cooler will be included with the Intel Alder Lake Non-K CPUs, which has a sleek new design and is fully compatible with the LGA 1700 socket. Aside from that, at CES 2022, Intel will unveil its H670, B660, and H610 motherboards, which will lower the price of the Alder Lake and support both DDR5 and DDR4 memory.
