Jamshedpur FC and Bengaluru FC played out a 0-0 draw in the ISL to share a point each. Here are the three talking points from the game.
Not a boring draw
0-0 draws are often cagey affairs, with neither side being able to create meaningful chances. These games also make for very boring watches, naturally.
But that wasn’t the case with this one. Both the teams had a number of great chances, and keepers on both ends were called into action to keep a clean sheet.
Gurpreet Singh’s distribution woes
The Indian shotstopper gave away a number of loose passes in the second half. He was almost punished for it, as the Jamshedpur FC players did well to close in. However, Gurpreet escaped without a consequence.
The final minutes of the game saw Rehenesh Paramba almost concede a blunder after his punched effort landed at the feet of Prince Ibara. However, the forward couldn’t find the target to win the game.
Jamshedpur FC 3 points away from the top
The men of steel now have 12 points from seven games. Following Mumbai City FC’s 3-0 defeat against Kerala Blasters, Jamshedpur FC are now only 3 points behind them. Hyderabad and Chennaiyin have a game in hand to close the gap to a point if they won their respective games.
Bengaluru FC, on the other hand, are seven games without a win. They haven’t earned all three points since their opening game, and are looking ahead at yet another disappointing season in 21/22.
