Emma Broyles got crowned as Miss America 2022 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Lauren Bradford, Miss Alabama was the first runner-up and Elizabeth Pierre, Miss Massachusetts was the second runner-up.
Emma Broyles represented Alaska who won the 100 Miss America crown and a $100,000 college scholarship. Broyles is a citizen of Alaska and she was also Miss Alaska’s outstanding Teen in 2017 when she was just 15. Miss America 2022 had a four-year break from beauty pageants until 2021. Broyles earlier had volunteered with the Special Olympics organisation 12 years ago. Her brother has down syndrome but later he became an athlete.
Emma Broyles is an honours student from Arizona State University. She’s a major in biomedical sciences and voice performance. She supports young girls and also volunteers at pageant events.

Broyles in a statement stated “I could not believe it,I am so, so grateful to everybody back at home who’s been supporting me for so long, and I’m so glad that I’m able to bring home the title of Miss America to the state of Alaska for the first time in history.”
The first Miss America programme began in 1921 as a beauty pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Broyles is the 94th Miss America.
She said that her grandparents immigrated from Korea to Anchorage about 50 years ago, even before her mother was born.

Her mother is a special education teacher at Service High in Anchorage, the same school that Broyles attended.
Broyles wants to become a dermatologist and desires to return to Alaska to practice this profession.
