Barcelona striker Sergio Aguero is set to retire from football due to heart problems. The player complained of breathing problems a few weeks ago, and had to be taken off immediately.

Upon medical assessments, the striker was diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmia which is a heart disease. According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Sergio Aguero has decided to hang up his boots only a few games into his career at Camp Nou. According to Transfermarkt, his return was expected in February, but it seems like that won’t be the case anymore.

The 33-year-old has played four games for Barcelona and has only scored one time for the Blaugrana. He joined the Blaugrana this summer as a free agent after his contract with Manchester City expired.

The aim for the Argentinian was to play with his best friend and international teammate, Lionel Messi. However, their partnership would never come to be with the former Barcelona captain leaving for PSG.

During the first few months of his time at Barcelona, he was dealing with injuries to the leg, and now, a heart condition has caused him to end his playing career.

Sergio Aguero is an undisputed legend of the Premier League and has been a part of some of the most iconic moments in England. For the Sky Blues, he has scored 260 goals in 390 games and is one of the highest scorers in England.

A formal press conference regarding the situation can be expected in the upcoming week.
