The most aniticipated trailer of the film Meenakshi Sundareshwar is out now. Starring Sanya Malhotra and Abhimanyu Dassani. This film is a rom-com drama. It is a story of a newlywed couple, who brings alive an arranged marraige set-up, and how the newlywed copule are forced into a “long distance relationship”.
The film Meenakshi Sundareshwar is directed by Vivek Soni and produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra. It’s production companies are Dharmatic Entertainment and Netflix Originals.

On Thursday i.e. 21st October 2021, Meenakshi Sundareshwar’s trailer was released by Netflix. Although the trailer have some lovely sweet moments but overall it does not have a lasting impression. It is mainly about the performances of Sanya and Abhimanyu that keep the audience connected with a emotional string attached to it. But it also seems that it would create some problem as the characters of the film has spoke in English in the first few seconds of the trailer, as most of the audience in India is Hindi-speaking.
This film shows us two different people- one is an introvert but is confident of being a good husband, as he said that engineers never give up and on the other hand the actress is a Rajnikanth Fan, who wanted to make difference but was left being the supportive wife. As both of them started their new journey, miles apart from each other causing misunderstanding, insecurity crop which has left them with a big question that whether the marraige will work or not? Although they have tried their best, even though they indulged in some naughty video calls, the family interfernce leaves them red-faced.
The only film that has worked for the film is relatibilty. In current days and age, the career growth has led couples, even married ones, to stay apart. The film does strike a chord with the issues long distance can bring in a relationship.
The debutant director Vivek Soni has shared in the trailer launch event is that he was “nervous, excited and confident”. He further added that they have put their heart and souls into this film and he hope that audience like it.
The film has been at the receiving end of criticism for portraying the stereotypical south Indian characters. Giving his reason for setting the love story down south, Soni added, “The story organically falls in Madurai. We also wanted to set in the south of India for a beautiful visual setting.”
While talking about the film, Sanya Malhotra has said in a statement that “Returning to Netflix with Meenakshi Sundareshwar is like a homecoming for me after Pagglait and Ludo. Working with Abhimanyu under the direction of Vivek has been a great experience. I’m glad this film will be released on Netflix to a global audience because the film offers something for everybody, and audiences all over the world will find the film appealing and will relate to it”.

The film Meenakshi Sundareshwar stars Sanya Malhotra, Abhimanyu Dassani in the lead roles. Abhimanyu is making his digital debut with this film who entered Bollywood with Vasan Bala’s critically-acclaimed 2019 comedy-drama Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota. Sanya on the other hand has had two of her films released on OTT — Ludo and Pagglait. It also features Shiv Kumar Subhramanian as Meenakshi’s father.
