In this article, we will be taking a look at the richest Premier League owners. Some surprising names make it to the top ten, which is the case because of their relative lack of spending in the transfer market.

So let’s discover the Top 10 Richest Premier League Teams Owners as of 2024-

10. Crystal Palace – Joshua Harris (£3.36bn)

Joshua Harris

While Joshua Harris only owns 18% of the stakes of Crystal Palace, he is among the richest owners in the Premier League. He also owns stakes in the NBA team Philadelphia 76 years and NHL team New Jersey Devils.

9. Manchester United – The Glazers (£3.6bn)

The Glazers are arguably one of the most unpopular owners in the Premier League, and there have been multiple protests from Manchester United fans to get them out of charge. They have put the club up for sale, but there seems to be no end to the bidding process in sight.

8. Tottenham – Joe Lewis (£3.9bn)

Joe Lewis

Joe Lewis owns 70.6% of the English National Investment Company that bought controlling stakes from Lord Alan Sugar in 2001. Despite being in charge for twenty years now, silverware has not quite found its way towards Spurs as the investors hoped it would.

7. Wolves – Guo Guangchang (£5.2bn)

Much like Leicester, Wolves stepped up from the Championship to make it to the Europa League under Nuno Espirito Santo, after the investment from their new Chinese owners. Since 2016, Guangchang has invested heavily in the club and has also invested in healthcare, pharmaceutical companies, mining and steel.

6. Aston Villa – Nassef Sawiris (£5.3bn)

Nassef Sawiris

Sawiris bought 55% of stakes from previous owner Tony Xia in 2018 and is a member of one of the richest families in Egypt. Villa have since enjoyed a revival, making it back to the Premier League and boasting one of the most balanced squads in the league. And following the 2022/23 season, they have made it back to European football under Unai Emery.

5. Fulham – Shahid Khan (£5.8bn)

The Pakistani businessman also owns NFL club Jacksonville Jaguars and has a stake in All Elite Wrestling through his son, Tony Khan. Fulham have produced a remarkable 10th placed finish, having avoided their usual relegation scrapple. And now, they could build on this success in the coming seasons.

4. Arsenal – Stan Kroenke (£6.35bn)

Despite being one of the richest Premier League owners, Kroenke has a general ignorance towards Arsenal that has enraged the fans of the club time and time again. However, things are now changing with the Gunners qualifying for the Champions League in 2023/24, and a new structure of development under Mikel Arteta.

3. Chelsea – Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital (£13bn)

Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital bought the club from Roman Abramovich in 2022 for around £6 billion, after Russia’s armed invasion of Ukraine forced him to sell his stake. Although Chelsea has spent an insane amount of money under their new owners, they have not had any success to back that up. The cumulative wealth between Boehly and Clearlake Capital is around £13bn, making them the third richest Premier League owners.

The takeover was completed in 2008, and Manchester City has established itself as a dominant force in England ever since. Sheikh Mansour has invested billions in the club, and that has resulted in seven Premier League titles and two Champions League finals in 15 years.

1. Newcastle United – Saudi Arabia PIF (£320 billion)

The new owners of Newcastle United are by far and wide the richest Premier League owners. They are backed by the crown prince of Saudi Arabia and are set to make massive investments in the years to come. However, their strategy has revolved around careful recruitment and not spending immense amounts of money to build a sustainable structure at the club.
