While the situation at Barcelona is far from being tension-free, there is reason for Culers to be optimistic. The team might be without Lionel Messi, but has a slew of young talent that can do justice to the expectations of the fans.
In terms of defenders, Eric Garcia, Ronald Araujo, Alejandro Balde, Sergino Dest and Oscar Mingueza are showing great promise to develop into top stars in the future. Of them, Araujo has already started to show that he is one of the top young central defenders in La Liga.
Barcelona’s midfield is stacked with young talent, and the likes of Pedri, Frenkie de Jong and Riqui Puig. Pedri and de Jong have had plenty of chances to prove themselves on the pitch, and have done so as well. Pedri had an incredible 20/21 season for club and country and is now one of the most highly rated youngsters in football. Puig, on the other hand, has not been given as much game time, but has the backing of Barcelona fans as well.
Lastly, coming to the attackers, Barcelona have their new number 10 Ansu Fati and Yusuf Demir. Ousmane Dembele is also relatively young at 24, and can really shine if he manages to stay injury free. However, the main focus will be on Fati and Demir. The former returned from injury against Levante and scored late in the game as Barcelona won against Levante 3-0.
