Microsoft’s latest OS also comes with optimized code that calls hardware functions, further reducing the delay between user input and the actual instruction being carried out in hardware, as well as, reducing idle time and improving user-perceived responsiveness.

There is also a newer compression technique introduced in windows 11 and this reduced overall OS disk usage and extended this technique to Windows 11’s update functions. The final improvements about which Steve Dispensa talked about is how this ecosystem of improvements has led to a sleep state philosophy that’s closer to phones and what Apple has done with macOS.

It is that the resuming from sleep now has seen a 25% improvement which leads, to a near-instant resume from sleep for most users, benefitting of power savings for mobile devices.
