Leeds United are in talks with rivals Manchester United over the signing of winger Daniel James. The transfer, if it will go through, is expected to be a permanent one for around £20 million.
With Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho joining the club, James is clearly going to fall behind in the pecking order. As a result, United are planning to cash in on the youngster with several options already available for them.
James currently has three years remaining on his contract with Manchester United. He joined the Red Devils from Swansea City in 2019 for €17.78 million and has since made 74 appearances for them, scoring and assisting nine goals each.
The speedster started for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in United’s win against Wolves recently, but it seems like his time at the club is drawing to an end. Prior to moving to Manchester United, James was in talks with Leeds for a transfer but the move collapsed in the January window and he ended up switching to Old Trafford instead.
The final fee negotiated for the Welsh winger could rise further with discussions for addons still going on right now. Jesse Lingard is expected to stay at the club alongside Amad Diallo. The latter was in talks to move to Feyenoord on a loan deal, but the talks collapsed after he suffered a muscle injury in training. The club has stated that Diallo will continue his rehabilitation at their medical facilities. As a result, the Dutch side have signed Reiss Nelson from Arsenal as a replacement.
