Paris Saint-Germain are yet to revert back to Real Madrid regarding their late bid for Kylian Mbappe. Los Blancos stepped up their €160 million offer with a €180 million bid for the French superstar, who has only one year remaining on his current deal.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the two clubs are in discussion for the player today. Real Madrid are calm about the issue, and are assured that they will have their man sooner or later. If PSG don’t agree to sell him this term, Madrid will have Mbappe on a free transfer next summer since he is only willing to play for them, to fulfill his childhood dream.
According to El Chiringuito, PSG have set the asking price for Mbappe at €220 million since they want to make a profit on his original transfer amount. However, Real Madrid will not step up their offer any further. Should the French club not accept Madrid’s offer for €180 million within the next five days, Mbappe will play out his contract and will leave as a free agent in 2022.
Madrid are saving the number 5 jersey iconically held by Zinedine Zidane and Raphael Varane for Mbappe, alongside David Beckham’s number 23 shirt, should he choose to make the move in the next few days. Sources from Spain indicate that the Mbappe deal could be wrapped up in the next 24-48 hours.
PSG have reportedly been caught off-guard, and have no plan in place for the current situation. But, they will have to decide between losing him for free or €180 million soon, since the ball is in their court.
