MagVOOC magnetic flash charging technology revealed by Oppo

Recently Oppo revealed it’s brand new magnetic flash charging technology. The Chinese tech giant is calling the new technology MagVOOC; moreover, the company has also applied for a trademark for the technology. At the China International Smart Industry Expo 2021 on August 23rd August, Oppo unveiled the MagVOOC magnetic flash charging technology.

The company also released three new concept products at the Expo – the MagVOOC magnetic wireless power bank, the MagVOOC ultra-thin portable magnetic charger, and the MagVOOC vertical magnetic charger Wireless charging base.

Echoing the theme of this year’s Smart Expo, “Empowering the Economy, Coloring Life”, OPPO presented the latest progress in the fields of flash charging ecology, upholding the original intention of “technology for people” and exploring a better technological life together with partners with an open and integrated mindset.

MagVOOC magnetic charging tech and power bank

The MagVOOC power bank has 4,500 mAh internally, which it can send to supported phones at 20W. The bank supports the Qi standard as well, so you can top up accessories like smartwatches and TWS headsets. You can also get 10W out of the USB-C port if you have a cable handy. The battery itself needs 2 hours to charge up completely using a cable. In terms of design, MagVOOC is compact and portable, which can further meet the changing needs of users in travel and indoor scenarios.

The MagVOOC ultra-thin portable magnetic charger has the split design of the transmitter coil and the mainboard. The split design not only makes the transmitter base lighter but also prevents the heat from being transferred to the phone. The dissipation of the produced heat this way would reduce the impact on the charging rate.

The new MagVOOC supports 20W wireless charging and 10W wired charging for mobile phones. Moreover, the magnetic wireless charger can be charged using a 4500 mAh battery in just 2 hours. The charger is also compact in size which makes it easier for the user to carry it. But a Chinese blogger Digital Chat Station has mentioned that Oppo has no plan to mass-produce the MagVOOC yet and that a 125W wired flash charging technology will be commercialized next year.
