Willian Jose is set to join Real Betis from Real Sociedad soon. The transfer has been given the here we go signal by Fabrizio Romano, which means that the deal is done and we can expect an official announcement about it in the days to come.
The striker spent the latter half of the 20/21 season on loan at Premier League club Wolves, and returned to Sociedad in the summer. He is now being sold to the white and green club, on an initial loan deal for a year. Betis have an obligation to buy the player for €8 million following the loan deal.
Jose has agreed a four-year deal with Betis after the loan deal, which means that he will be contracted to the club until 2026. The player joined Sociedad in 2016 for €6 million and has appeared for them 170 times, scoring 62 goals and assisting 15. He has featured for Brazil at the U20 level, but has not made an appearance for the national team.
Betis have managed to get a great deal for the player, who is valued at €18 million on Transfermarkt. He also has three years left on his current deal with the club, which means that his actual value could be much more if Sociedad didn’t want to let him go.
The 29-year-old is in the peak years of his career and is familiar with the Spanish league. As a result, he could help his new club return to European competitions by achieving a high finish this term.
