Paul Pogba is expected to leave Manchester United this summer, with PSG being rumoured as the most likely destination for the player.
Negotiations are currently underway and progressing according to Foot Mercato, and the two clubs must agree on a transfer fee before a move can take place. Foot Mercato also states that Pogba will not actively try to push for a move, which means that if negotiations reach a deadlock, he might even stay.
United are expecting a fee worth €70-80 million for the player, but PSG will most likely try to seal the deal for €50 million. The move will still be expensive for them, since Pogba will become the third highest paid player in the squad behind Kylian Mbappe and Neymar if he joins.
Pogba currently has a year left on his contract with Manchester United. He will either have to be sold this summer, or agree to a new contract, or depart for free next summer. The last option will be one that Manchester United will try everything to avoid, and having failed to agree a new deal, they are choosing to cash in.
But while all the talks of incoming transfers has fans pumped, players need to go out as well to keep the books balanced. Sergio Rico, Alphonse Areola, Rafinha, Layvin Kurzawa, Thilo Kehrer, Ander Herrera and Pablo Sarabia are all being linked with a move away from the club this summer. PSG currently have a deficit of €300 million, and have already indulged in numerous signings this summer. So, they will have to find ways to stabilise the finances in the current condition.
