Bayern Munich place €20 million wage cap per season and make up a four-group wage bracket

Despite being one of the biggest clubs in Europe, Bayern Munich have never been one to spend heavily either in the transfer market or to keep their players through wages. And their latest financial model is proof of that fact.

According to German publication BILD, the club has divided their pay scale into four brackets. The highest earner at the club is star striker Robert Lewandowski, who earns a sum worth €20 million per season. Bayern have placed a strict cap on the total amount of money a player can earn per season at €20 million, which is only offered to Lewandowski.

Group 1, which consists of the top earners at the club, has Lewandowski, Manuel Neuer, Thomas Muller and Leroy Sane. The wage bracket in this group is between €15-20 million. Joshua Kimmich, Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman fall in group two, as they earn between €10-15 million. Kimmich is set to make the jump to the first group once he renews his contract with the club.

The third group consists of players who earn between €5-10 million per season. This includes Niklas Sule and Leon Goretzka. The latter is expected to renew his contract soon and join his midfield partner Kimmich in group 1.

The wage bracket up to €5 million will make up the last group and consists of mostly the younger players in the squad. The Bavarians have a great squad at hand for the upcoming season, led by Julian Nagelsmann. They start their league campaign in a big match against Borussia Monchengladbach on 13th August.
