Following Italy’s Euro 2020 victory against England in the finals, Gigio Donnarumma was given the Player of the Tournament award. He became the first goalkeeper ever to receive the award, and that showed exactly how important goalkeepers can be for their teams.

He was chosen as the player of the season for Atletico Madrid as they won the league title after seven years.
