Ramayana Part One Day 1 Box Office: Ranbir and Yash’s Epic Eyes Rs 65 Crore

Pre-Diwali weeks are tricky for big releases, and Ramayana: Part One is feeling it. Early trade trends still point to a strong start, and the story behind the numbers is more interesting than the headline figure. Here’s the breakdown.

Ramayana Part One Opening Day Estimate

Early trends put the Day 1 India collection at over Rs 60 crore nett. Counting 3D charges, which the distributor will include in its reporting, the figure rises to roughly Rs 65 crore nett. These are trade estimates, not final collections.

Why South India Is Leading?

Karnataka is the standout. Yash’s star power helped, and the pre-Diwali slowdown matters less there, so the film got closer to its normal numbers. The dubbed versions also dominated Bengaluru and Hyderabad, which took some business away from Hindi shows.

Why the Hindi Number Looks Soft?

Advance sales were around Rs 23.5 crore nett at the start of the day, which would normally suggest an opening near Rs 55 crore. But walk-in audiences stayed away because of the pre-Diwali timing, and the film has limited reach in Hindi circuits outside the metros. Family audiences, a big part of its target, were probably hit hardest.

Mysore shows the gap well. It would normally open at Rs 8-9 crore nett and is heading for about Rs 4 crore. Nizam may collect just Rs 1.5 crore against a usual Rs 4-5 crore.

What Happens Next?

The silver lining is early word of mouth. The US premiere got a mixed response, but early reactions from India look more encouraging. Trade watchers expect the next three days to be steady, with Monday deciding the film’s real trajectory. Following Ranbir Kapoor’s earlier hits is a tall order, so watch the weekday numbers closely.
