OnePlus has been in the world of smartphones for over 8 years, and now it looks like it is working on a tablet to be called Oneplus pad. OnePlus Pad tablet may be in development, as hinted by a trademark filing with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). The Chinese company becomes successful in multiple tech varieties like smartphones, fitness bands, smartwatches, earphones, TVs, and more.
As spotted by MySmartPrice, the OnePlus Pad, the supposedly new OnePlus tablet was found listed on EQUIPO certification website. The listing doesn’t reveal much except for the device name, however, it did mention the trademark status under ‘examination,’ which suggests the device is under works.
While the flagship killer company has products in other segments as well- from smart TVs to wearables, it’s nothing astonishing for the brand to enter the tablet market, given its sister brands under the BBK Electronics umbrella already have similar products in the pipeline.
OnePlus planning to launch a tablet doesn’t come as a surprise as Realme and Vivo have been making similar moves. While Realme has announced its entry into the tablet category, Vivo filed a trademark for the ‘Vivo pad’ on the EUIPO website. We expect the tablet to run an optimized version of the company’s OxygenOS or it could be ColorOS as it is now working closely with Oppo.
As per the EUIPO trademark, the tablet could be advertised as the ‘OnePlus Pad’. However, it’s too soon to comment on what the OnePlus tablet will feature or how will it look as these are just speculations and the listing does not reveal any details about the products or the availability timeline. One thing that’s highly possible is that the company might launch the tablet in India as it’s been the biggest market for the company. With the supposed OnePlus Pad trademark out, we expect the rumor mill to spill more details in the coming days.
